Description

This is a balm that features many great oils but is not very greasy in the feel. Almost a dry or powdery texture as it soaks in. Full of great oils like shea butter, sunflower oil, babassu, hemp and jojoba. Take a small amount and rub into any dry area and watch it soak right in. Perfect for hands and feet so you can keep on the go.

We wanted to create a balm that would nourish the skin but wouldn't leave you feeling like a greasy mess. Not only was this something we wanted but we realized that we couldn't find anyone else who was creating a product like this. So we started with what we knew worked well for our tried and true lotion bars with a base of shea butter and sunflower oil. The shea butter bringing the rich creamy feel that absorbs in fantastically to skin and the light weight organic sunflower oil is a fantastic light weight oil that won't leave a much of a greasy feel. Next we knew we wanted to bring in a variety of amazing oils. We found the coconut-like babassu oil that at room temperature is a solid but melts on skin contact. This oil offers the amazing skin properties that coconut oil has but absorbs even better and feels amazing. For the oils we finished with a healthy dose of hemp seed oil and jojoba which both are great for skin. However we were still needing something to bring it all together so we went back to our vegan bar formula and used stearic acid for our wax like component. Normally traditional waxes will leave a sticky film on the skin. In many cases this can be a great feature however for your hands and feet sometimes you just want to put something on and not be left feeling sticky or feel like you have to wash it off. Stearic acid is a component of oil that is often found in many of the hard natural butters like shea, mango, kokum, coconut and palm. What it offers is the firm structure of a wax with a more powdery and silky feel on the skin. This ingredient is naturally derived and has been used for years in products like vanishing creams when a velvety finish is desired. Finally to create the perfect feel and nourishment to the skin we needed to add a few last ingredients. Arrowroot powder, our secret ingredient, allows this balm to be the light and spreadable texture as it will absorb up the excess oil as you work it in. Zinc oxide and vitamin E, both of which have been shown to be fantastic for the skin, are also added to allow this balm to go hard to work on those dry spots and achy areas on the hands and feet. All in all we can't get enough of how well this product came together. It isn't an easy product to make but the results are worth the effort and we think you will find this a great hit.

One thing about this balm is that it doesn't love being out in the heat. We designed it to melt into the skin so expect it to liquefy at around 120 degrees and get quite soft even around 100 degrees. So be warned that if left in the sun it will melt. The product does still work but the powders may settle and the texture will change. The way that it works on the skin however, will stay the same.
